| Cultural
information: "Water Soldier" gets it's
name from it's long saber shaped leaves. The margins of the leaves
have a row of sharp teeth. "Water Soldier" is a peculiar
plant as it lives at varying water depths. Thru mid summer the
plant is suspended just below the pools surface, late summer it
rises to the surface and flowers. After flowering is sinks nearly
to the bottom of the pool... and starts the process all over
again. The sale of "Water Soldier" is restricted in
temperate areas. Remove dead or dying
foliage and flowers as they appear. |
