Wildflower Field notes: This clump of Prairie Coneflower was found growing in the montane ecosystem where they don't belong. We think they were seeded by CDot after a road construction project. Prairie Coneflower is an excellent choice for the wildflower garden. Deer and Elk won't generally browse on the Prairie Coneflower.

During spring planting season your local Garden Center will have them available. Look for Prairie Coneflower in prairies, hillsides, and along roadways.
