Cultivation: Plant Purple Leafed Grape in full sun to very light shade in compost rich, well drained soil. It will adapt to most soil types. If planted in shady areas the foliage will be green.

Purple Leafed Grape is a great choice for trellises or arbors with its summer colored crimson red foliage. In spring when the foliage first emerges the leaves are green. Come fall the foliage turns dark purple at which time it produces inedible purple grapes.

"Purple Leaved Grape needs to be grown on a some sort of support. Its tendrils will cling to nearly anything. The Grape Vines can be pruned in spring and fall to maintain a shape or to confine spread. 

Propagation:
Purchase pre-started Vines at your local Garden Center or Nursery. Cuttings can be taken in spring.

Mildews.
