Cultivation: Plant Five Leaf Akebia, also known as the Chocolate Vine in full sun to partial shade on a trellis or other support. Five Leaf Akebia prefers moist, well drained soil.

"Five Leaf Akebia" adapts to most soil types quite well. It is a vigorous climbing vine that only requires pruning if the plant is outgrowing its designated area. Cut back to ground level at the end of the growing season.

Once established Five Leaf Akebia will produce purple flowers in May or June which will develop into a purple fruit by late September.

Propagation:
Purchase pre-started Five Leaf Akebia at your local Garden Center. Cuttings can be taken and rooted in spring.
