"Kohlrabi Early White Vienna" is a Ferry Morse seed. It's thick stems look like bulbs which grow above the ground. "Early White Vienna" is sweet and crunchy, similar in flavor to Turnips. Their good cooked or raw.

The Bed: Add a fresh layer of rich compost to the top soil, then till or spade the bed to loosen the soil and work in the compost. Rake level.

How to Grow: Kohlrabi can be planted 4 to 5 weeks before the last frost. Plant seed 1/2" deep... 1/4" to 1/2" apart in rows spaced 12" apart. Thin seedlings to 3" to 4" apart after they have reached 3" - 4" in height.

Keep the soil moist... but not soggy until the seeds germinate. After germination, water as needed, keeping the soil moist.

Harvesting: When bulbs are 2" - 3" in diameter Kohlrabi is ready to harvest. Slice the bulb off just below the leaves.

Available Hybrids - Cultivars: Early Purple Vienna 55 days, Kolpak 50 days, Superschmeltze 60 days, and Grand Duke 45 days.
