The Bed: Add a fresh layer of rich compost to the top soil, then till or spade the bed to loosen the soil and work in the compost. Rake level.

How to Grow: Cauliflower is a cool season crop that can be planted 4 to 5 weeks before last frost. Plant 6 to 8 seeds 1/2" deep in clumps spaced 24" apart. After germination thin seedlings to the strongest most vigorous grower. Keep the soil moist but not soggy until the seeds germinate. After germination water as needed. Mulch plants when they are 4" to 6" tall to cool the soil and retain moisture.

Harvesting: Harvest Cauliflower heads while they are tight and compact.
