Grasses Cultivation:
Plant Big Blue Stem grass in full sun in fertile, well drained soil.
This large grass tolerates dry conditions quite well. Because of
it height, Big Blue Stem grass is good for growing a natural
screen.
Space container grown plants 24" -
36" apart. Cut back old growth in spring
before new growth emerges to help maintain the grasses vigor. Big Blue Stem does not like
a wet root zone during the winter... which shouldn't be a problem around
here!
Propagation: Big Blue Stem seed can be sown after danger of hard
frost has passed. For much quicker growth... purchase pre-started
plants at your local Garden Center. Once established, plants can
be divided during mid spring.
