Cultural
information: This very attractive hybrid
Philodendron has long narrow green leaves and burgundy stems. When
grown on a totem they are perfect for narrow spaces.
'Red Emerald' Philodendron can be kept in low light
locations... but for optimum growth keep your plant in indirect or
filtered natural lighting. Check for watering weekly. Allow the
surface of the soil to dry down about 2" before watering.
Feed bi-monthly with a balanced liquid plant food such as Peter's
Plant Food. If your plant grows over the top of the pole... just
cut it back to the top of the pole. Root the cuttings in water or
moist potting soil. When shopping for any poled plant... try to
find a plant that was grown on a synthetic pole. Wooden poles tend
to rot off at the soil line after several years of ownership.
'Red Emerald' Philodendron is available in a wide range of
containers including hanging baskets.
