| Cultural
information: The name Hydrangea, comes from two Greek
words... hydro meaning "water" and aggeion
meaning "vessel".
The Hydrangea family is quite large
containing varieties that are used indoors and outdoors. Some
varieties are perennial here in Colorado. When used outdoors
flower color will vary depending on the acidity of the soil, and
if aluminum is available.
Place your indoor flowering Hydrangea in a well lit area. Avoid areas
of the house or office with excessive heat. Check your Hydrangea
plants for water two or three
times per week until you become familiar with their water
requirements. Your Hydrangea plant will not need any fertilizer during
its
stay indoors.
Hydrangeas are basically a disposable flowering indoor house
plant. Once your plant looses it appeal... just discard it and replace
it with some thing new.
Fully flowering Hydrangeas are usually available in 6" containers at your
local Floral Shop or Garden Center.
