General Filler Flower Care: Keep the water in the vase of your "Limonium Main Blue" fresh. Replace the water every 3 days with cold water keeping the water level near the top of the vase. Re-cut 1/2" from the base of each stem under water using a sharp knife with each water change. Remove any foliage or flowers that may become submerged after re-cutting.

Variety note: There are four types of Limonium used in the floral industry but the two most common are L. latifolium (pictured above) and L. sinnuatum (Statice). Sea Lavender is a rather expensive medium sized filler flower. Main Blue air dries quite well but should be sprayed with a fixative once dry.

Sea Lavender is zone 4 hardy in Colorado allowing it be grown in your flower beds and harvested as needed.

Add a commercial floral preservative such as AquaPlus or FloraLife to the vase that contains your Sea Lavender with each water change. Floral preservative helps to prevent bacteria growth and feeds your Main Blue insuring a longer vase life.

If you run out of commercial flower preservative you can make your own fresh cut flower food mix 1/2 teaspoon of table sugar to a quart of cold water... mixing thoroughly.
