General Floral Greens Care: Keep the water in the vase which contains your Bear Grass fresh. Replace the water every 3 days with cold water keeping the water level near the top of the vase. Bear Grass doesn't require re-cutting with vase arrangement water changes.

Variety note: Bear Grass can be found growing wild in the mountains of northern Colorado. It is also used as an ornamental grass in gardens. During late summer it produces a single large cluster of white flowers held high above the foliage. Professional florists use the blades of Bear Grass as a cut floral filler green because of its attractive foliage and durability. Xerophyllum tenax is sold in bunches of 100 blades or more

Common names include; Bear Grass, Indian Blanket Grass, or Elk Grass.

Add a commercial floral preservative such as AquaPlus or FloraLife to the vase that contains your "Bear Grass" with each water change. Floral preservative helps to prevent bacteria growth... and feeds your flowers insuring a longer vase life. To make your own cut flower food mix 1/2 teaspoon of table sugar to a quart of cold water... mixing thoroughly.
